Don Jones of San Francisco 49ers escorts girl with Down syndrome to prom


MOULTON, Ala. — A special-needs scholar had a one-of-a-kind promenade date when an NFL participant returned to his residence county in Alabama to take her to the dance.

Don Jones is a 27-year-old defensive again for the San Francisco 49ers who’s from Lawrence County.

He instructed WBRC-TV (Birmingham) it was a “blessing” to go to the promenade Friday evening with 18-year-old Lindsey Preston, who has Down syndrome.

Jones is a household pal. His mom taught Preston in elementary faculty.

Preston’s mom, Kristi Martin, instructed The Related Press that Jones danced with all the scholars and “made everyone really feel particular.”

Jones performed at Arkansas State earlier than going professional. He has performed for the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans.
