SAN FRANCISCO — Authorities say Aldon Smith is being transferred to an inpatient substance abuse therapy heart as he awaits his subsequent courtroom date.

The previous Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers linebacker was booked into jail every week in the past for violating a situation of his electrical monitoring whereas out on bail.
