HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Kelly Kraft acquired a birdie, simply not the one he wished on the RBC Heritage.
Kraft’s ball hit a fowl in flight on the par-Three 14th gap, and the ball dropped into the water in entrance of the inexperienced.
Kraft made double bogey and completed at 1-over par on Harbour City Golf Hyperlinks, lacking the lower by a stroke.
“It cost me the cut, most likely,” Kraft informed the web site. “There was a helping wind, and I hit a 7-iron, caught it perfect. It was probably 30 yards off the tee box and this giant, black bird swooped in front of it and hit it and the ball fell 20 yards short in the water. It would’ve been in the middle of the green. It might have been close. I got screwed.”
Kraft’s group requested for a ruling, figuring the participant would merely re-tee with out penalty. As an alternative, as a result of the fowl will not be a man-made object, Kraft needed to play it as a ball within the water.
